*New* Natural Bleach / Discharge Painting & Printing with Natural Dyes Tutorial
Take advantage of exciting and vibrant shades possible from any natural dye (except indigo) through mordant discharge painting and printing on fabric & immersion dyeing.
In this tutorial you’ll learn how to pre-treat/mordant materials, make an effective and natural discharge solution that can be painted, block printed, stencil printed and screen printed on the mordanted fabric. And then anywhere the fabric has been painted with the discharge solution- the mordant will then wash away from the dye so that when immersion dyed- designs will become magically visible!
It is recommended to use a CELLULOSE material for the most striking and graphic prints (cotton, linen, hemp etc.) fabric that is finely woven or knit. **Protein fibers like silk or wool can work with this technique to some extent- but expect more subtle tonal results as the dye will take more readily to the discharged area of protein fibers.
AND This Tutorial comes with a BONUS section showing how to make 100% flower or plant bleach to use for this techniqe as well!
